So should you stop buying & shipping in product now that we are so close to Christmas? HECK NO!
While the bulk of Christmas shopping is happening right now it doesn't just abruptly end after Christmas. I still sell seasonal items right up until mid-January (and actually sporadically throughout the year as well) and inflated prices still stay rather high on items like toys.
So what should you be doing now? Keep sending in those replenishables, keep sourcing & shopping, keep shipping in product. Just source with care & intellect. That Baby Alive that's selling at $120 most likely won't be in February. Use your price history tools like Keepa & Camel Camel Camel to research where prices will likely return to after the Christmas season. Don't go bananas on after Christmas clearance either, at least not without a clear plan. Are you buying and holding for next Q4? Are you buying items that will likely continue to sell at current prices? Did you do your homework on price stability for the product before buying 20 of them? Nothing is worse than thinking you're killing it on the clearance racks only to find out that not only are all resellers thinking that and running home to be the first to ship those items to the warehouse, but to see prices tank faster than usual a. due to saturation and b. due to price normalization.
So keep shopping, keep shipping and keep hustling but do so with a plan. And in addition to your typical replens here are some other items to shop for and ship in now.
1. Smoking cessation aids (Nicorette, etc.)
2. Weight loss & fitness equipment (gym bags, running shoes, yoga apparel, athletic shorts & shirts)
3. Health foods, supplements & appliances (juicers, mixers, blenders, gluten free foods, protein bars, vitamins, sugar free foods)
4. Valentine's Day, romance, love related products (I know already, right?)
